In the Occitanie Region near Montpellier, local fruit and vegetable producers are encouraged to supply the public sector as part of a regional commitment to sustainable sourcing. This pilot targets the GPP system for fruits and vegetables in the Montpellier Market of National Interest (Mercadis), involving actors such as wholesale operators, producers, processors, service providers, restaurants, and the public catering sector (schools, universities, hospitals). Green Public Procurement has become a priority, aiming to reduce environmental impact while supporting agriculture.
